SPARC SIMPLEX NET FORMAT:

Good Evening, it’s 9:00 o’clock and time to start the Shore Point Amateur Radio Club Simplex Net.

Is there anyone on frequency who has any emergency or priority traffic?

 (Pause)

Hearing no reply, Let’s start the Simplex Net.

My name is (insert name), My call sign is (insert call sign), and I’ll be your net control for tonight.

We hold this net at 9:00 PM on every Thursday of each month, on 145.505 MHz Simplex, and a 77Hz PL is used. The use of a PL is for the benefit of stations hindered by adjacent frequency interference.  It is also used to allow for the simulcast of the net on Club repeaters so that all amateurs can follow the net, even if they are unable to hear some stations direct on the simplex frequency.

This net is open to any licensed amateur to check in who can hear the Net Control station or any other station that is willing to relay for you.

The purpose of this net is to promote the use of the simplex mode of communication and cooperation among fellow Amateurs to see how well we can send and receive on VHF without the use of repeaters; such as might be needed in case of an emergency.  This net is sponsored by the Shore Point Amateur

Radio Club.  For further information on SPARC, please go to sparc.us on the web.

To check in to the net, please state your Call Sign, Name, and Location.

When acknowledged initially, please come back with a brief account of the type of radio, power output, and type & height of your antenna.

During the shack descriptions, all other stations should make note of how they hear the transmitting station, either by signal strength or general copyability and quieting, as that information will be used in the next Net segment.

Okay, let’s get started!  If I don’t hear anyone checking in, and someone else does, please relay for the other person.
